1951 (Part 1)

Ten years after initial discussions regarding the formal housing scheme for Oukloof, no progress had been made on this front. Instead the Village Management Board now starts looking at the possibility of moving the coloured community to a completely new location.

Village Management Board minutes meeting of 29 November 1951:

“ Extension of Location: given that the present location no longer affords space and that it is not possible to extend it further, the management discussed the desirability of getting other land and the secretary was asked to again apply to the Kerkraad concerning land around which discussions had already been held between the Land Committee, the Church Board and the Village Management board”
